2nd Asian Indoor Games
24 teams including Malaysia will be taking part in the the 2nd Asian Indoor Games on 26th October to 3rd November 2007 in Macau.
Events include Standard, Rapid and Blitz Chess with categories of mixed team competitions and individual competitions for both men and women.

ASIAN Individual Final results
GM Zhang Pengxiang emerged champion with an impressive unbeaten 8/11 score from a very strong field in tge Asian Individual Championship that just ended in Cebu, Philippines. 2005 DATMO champ, GM Wang Hao finished with the same points also but dropped one game to GM Susanto Megaranto.

One of the surprises of the tournament is GM Zhang Zhong who was the highest rated player in DATMO with ELO 2634.One of GM Zhang Zhong best results is a 2800+ performance at Wijk aan Zee. (+10=2=1) in 2006.

The 2007 National Chess Championship wound up in Chongqing city with 13 year old Hou Yifan setting an unbeaten record to win her first title. Hou becomes the youngest player to win the championship, breaking the record set by Shanghai’s Qin Kanying who won her first title at the age of 14 in 1988.
