Fritz 11

image Fritz 11 has come out sometime back and I didn’t even noticed. It’s on sale at Amazon for USD 49.95. From the reviews I read, many come to the same conclusion that it’s overkill and if you already have at least the old Fritz 8 then that would be enough.

However there’s is this new feature called Calculation Training which sounds interesting because it’s supposed to be an exercise tool to improve your game. Chessbase explains it as:

This function is fun to use and helps you to learn visualization of moves on the board without moving the pieces. This is what over the board chess is all about!

However that’s still doesn’t tell me anything. I tried their video demo but it didn’t work.

Anyone out there tried this feature yet?
