Can Technology help in chess improvement?

I definitely think so. Grandmasters nowadays can’t do without technology. Name me one present day professional GM that don’t use a computer for preparation?

Even at club level, computers and technology play and important role in chess studies. Tactical exercises, player databases, chess videos, PDAs and notebooks are all essential for player’s developement other than having a good human coach, that is.

Some strong IMs and GMs I managed to talk to, don’t even read many chess books! They spend most of their time studying with the computer.

So, this year, one of my resolution is to dig deeper into chess and technology and find out new and interesting ways to help improve my chess.
