Justin Ong wins Singapore Challengers 2007
Congratulations to Justin Ong for winning the Singapore Challengers 2007.
The Singapore Challengers is something like our Ambank Challenge that is held side by side the strong Malaysia Open but looking at the ELO rating it is just slightly weaker than the Ambank. Still to finish above 62 Singaporean players and ahead of 2 strong Indonesian players is a great achievement for Justin who recently finished 113 out of 126 in the U16 World Youth.
I personally don’t know Justin and found it difficult to find a photo from my collection of pictures. The above is the best one I could find. (sorry Justin 
)
Justin takes home with him USD 600 as first prize.
Our own Mohd Izz was less fortunate as he suffered two defeats in a row but managed to fight back to claim 8th place with the prize money of USD 75.
