Dell releases The Beast
Ok this is probably an overkill for a notebook for the chess player. But then again it’s cheaper than the configuration I played around for the Dell GM Notebook (RM 12,887.00).
Starting price for the basic system is RM 7999 which comes with comes pre-configured with an Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T7500 Processor, 2GB of DDR2 SDRAM, 17.0″ UltraSharp™ Widescreen WUXGA (1920×1200) TFT Display and dual NVIDIA® GeForce® 8700M GT graphics cards.
The high-octane XPS M1730 delivers incredible mobile gaming performance, supporting the overclocking of Intel Core 2 Extreme processor X7900 to Bin +2 (up to 3.2GHz) and featuring NVIDIA SLI technology with support for DirectX 10 graphics. It is the only notebook to feature the AGEIA PhysX 100M processor, and for a limited time every system includes Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 from Ubisoft. Designed specifically for the gaming community and dubbed “the beast” by the Dell development team, the new notebook features an aggressive, brawny design that can be personalized with four color accent choices: Crimson Red, Sapphire Blue, Bone White, and Smoke Grey.

This is a gaming machine but since it’s CPU and other components are souped up, it’s also suitable as an analysis machine as well as a fast Chessbase notebook.
You can play around with the specs and prices here.
