Maybank credit card - first use

Credit Cards are the gateway to terrible debts. So it’s logical I am very careful ever since I got my first credit card. Last week I used my credit card for the first time! It wasn’t a real purchase but I spent USD 1.95 to verify and open my new PayPal account so I can send and receive money online.

I used my MayBank Master Card. In Malaysia the credit business has definitely picked up because those pushy supermarket credit card promoters are everywhere! Anyway the common type of credit cards are those with reward programs where you have airline miles and cash back credit cards.

Here are two types of credit cards:-

Secured Credit Cards have the special in the sense that they can be used by someone with a no credit history to improve their credit score. That means a new credit card user can start purchasing using the new card but have to pay upfront some form of deposit to secure the card first.

Low APR credit cards are another type of credit card typically used to transfer an existing balance from another credit card. Some even have the attractive 0% APR intro.
