Where is the coverage?

Being at the receiving end last year for lousy coverage for the Malaysian Open 2006 I’ve learnt my lesson. As a webmaster for a major tournament website, there is a big responsibility to get the news out there for the many chess enthusiasts who follow the tournament news from afar. That is why I’m quite satisfied with the DATMO 2007 coverage in terms of pictures, news and results.

We even took comments and suggestions given by the Pinoy and Aussie readers and implemented as many as we could to make the website better. In the end, judging from the positive comments after the event, I’m happy that the readers are satisfied.

Now as a web visitor and chess enthusiast, I have to ask the Phillipines chess organisers:

Where is the coverage for the VI Asian Individual Championship ?

This event is grander in scale and chess playing strength compared to the DATMO. Sure, they have the results linked from their Swiss Manager pairing software to publish to chess-results.com but I feel that is not enough. Where is the actual official website? They should have one site for such a big event. Some pictures and commentaries from the event would be nice.

What do you think? Is the link to chess-results.com enough to be considered the “official tournament website” ?
