Streamyx is fast for a change

Here’s a change from my usual Streamyx rant and complaints. I just got back home after 2 weeks and connected to Streamyx to check on my websites and blog. Instead of the expected slow connection and frequent disconnects, connection speeds were pretty fast and stable. That’s surprising. Even my Bittorrent rates hit 150Kb per second at times.

I have to screen capture this because I have a sneeky suspicion this won’t last.

Wow, that is fast…I’ve never hit above 100kB/s before…but could it be because of other external factors?

151kBps?! Wow, that really is amazing performance for a Streamyx line.

Which package are you subscribing to? What was the time? Which area are you connecting from?

Hope you can share these information.

one possible explanation is that most of the seeders and peers are within malaysia… we all know how great Screamyx’s “intranet” service is… I’ve had speeds up to 120 kbps…

Maybe there’s a lot of seeders in Malaysia?

Yeah it’s only for a couple minutes at a time. It’s normal download rate is only 10Kb-20Kb/s for bit torrent.

where’s the cap on bittorrent? They’ve removed it?

Yeah I agree with Jason, probably lots of Malaysian seeders. The cap on bittorrent seems to be off when it’s all Malaysian seeders.
