Visited PC Fair II 2007
I went to PC Fair last minute at around 5 pm on the Sunday (last day). Spent 3 hours just browsing aimlessly to find anything interesting. I did go to the Maybank booth first to get a credit card. Brought all the necessary documents and got a free cloth bag. Not bad.
The only things I was tempted to buy was the Microsoft wireless keyboard + mouse retailing at RM 88 and a 40 GB portable harddisk at RM 150. But on second thought I didn’t get either as the wireless keyboard+mouse can be found at Low Yat too with a slightly more expensive RM90 (last I saw) and the portable harddisk was big and clunky (3.5″).
I ended up buying a notebook cooler but even this can be found at Low Yat at the same price. The only reason I got it was I needed it then, and didn’t want to go to Low Yat again the next day.
The original price was RM30 but reduced to RM25 an hour before PC Fair closed.

I also got a glance at the Dell Vostro series. It looked better than in the pictures. I adviced my friend that I preferred the 1420 with the 2Gb RAM (purely based on looks) instead of the 6400. He bought the 1420 immediately.
I guess PC Fair is still useful in a sense because you can find everything at one place. But I wish the vendors would not hike price up too much as I’ve seen for certain items. Doing that will just kill one of the attractions of having a PC Fair. Nowadays consumers are not that uninformed as before. Prices can be checked and compared online in a few seconds.
Also going back was ok without so much of the human traffic people complained of the first two days. The LRT was working (thank goodness!) and I didn’t have to become a human sardine to get in the train
