wow, i wonder if its actually real, but if it actually is, i wonder how the pieces are able to move.i can only think of magnetism but then the magnet would also end up controlling the other pieces as well. does anyone know how this thing works?

It’s real. I remember seeing this in the British Pergamon Chess magazine adverts way back in 1990. They called the technology “phantom” power but all it is, is just sets of magnets directly under each piece. It’s very expensive though because it consisted of many moving parts in the gadget.
