Human still beats computer … at Poker

There are so many games that computer have bested humans.

We have already lost the game of chequers as computers have already solved that game.

Although not completely computer-solved, chess is another area where not even the strongest GM can beat a decently configured computer. Heck, I can’t even beat my mobile phone at chess

So that last frontier to be conquered by computers is Poker.

Poker is harder than other games for computers to crack because of the importance of studying other players’ tactics and behaviour. In chequers, for example, a computer can work out the best move simply by knowing the rules of the game and the current position.

So at least computer can still be ‘bluffed’ at Poker.
