Is GilaChess.com a community?

I killed off some comments made on GilaChess on the 1st Russian Embassy Chess Open. The main reason is that that site is basically for reporting news. Starting a debate on who is the father of Malaysian Chess is definitely not what I want there. I also hate to practice censorship as that kills of the community. Although GilaChess.com runs on a blog I don’t want to treat it as such. So the answer is NO. GilaChess.com is not a community.

At least that only applies to the front page of GilaChess which is the news section. I’m planning to create sub-sections for a Club GilaChess and playing area similiar to what Stonemaster.biz used to have.

Sorry to say this. If you have ground rules, let everyone know rght from the start. If you invited comments, do so with an open heart. Please don’t say comments were not welcome when you allowed them before all the while. However, you own the site, so you have every right to do what you want. Please note I wasn’t even the first to post a comment there so why weren’t the prior comments deleted up till the time I left my comments?

My only explanation was you didn’t want to upset some well placed people. That I think is wrong but you have the right to do so.
