Website in 30 minutes
Although Wordpress is free, recently someone evaluated the worth of Wordpress blogging application to be USD 1million. That’s probably overvalued but I cannot deny that it’s one well written piece of web application. I’ve recently just dugged into to ir’s source codes and as a programmer it’s quite efficient and tidy. After what I’ve seen at work, Wordpress codes are like a work of art. Hmmm.. USD 1 million is perhaps not far off the mark.
For example, I have wanted CAS to have their website restored after it went down a few years ago due to some accidental deletion of the database by the webhost. It was never repaired and the website has been down since then. I was supposed to help but never got around to it.
This morning, just for fun I timed myself to see how fast I could create a website for CAS.
I registered a short new domain (http://casweb.info) on GoDaddy and used my existing webspace. I have over 3 Gigabytes worth of space so that’s no problem (GilaChess.com with years worth of content hardly even take up 1 Gb).
I then posted IA Lim Tse Pin last 2 reports and results on the Royal Selangor Grand Prix.
All of that took only less than 30 minutes! That’s how easy it is to create a website nowadays.
