Still using iDrive online backup
I’ve blogged about online backup service before because they sponsored one of my posts. But more than a month later I’m still using the free backups services from iDrive. Being a fan of free services, I’ve only tried the free version as it offers me more than enough space with 2Gb. You can upgrade to the pro version for USD 4.95/month. The Pro version will give you unlimited space. That’s generous! But I really don’t need that much space at the moment.
Anyway, the online space is used for putting in essential software such as Swiss-46, swiss manager, Chess Base light 6 (the old version not the bloated latest one), chess diagramming tools like PalView, PGN2Js etc. Of course you can argue that all this can also fit onto a thumbdrive. In fact, I have a 2Gb thumbdrive too but having my essential stuff online as backup gives me peace of mind. I also save data files online such as my latest source codes which is quite small.
