Google PR

One of the most important measurement of “success” for my blogs is Google Page Rank. It’s simple a ranking system from 0-10 where 10 is the best. Since Google is “God” on the internet, their page rank carries a lot of weight.

You can more or less tell how popular or important a website based on it’s page rank. This blog PR is 4 and I’m hoping it will reach 5 in 2 months time when Google does it’s PR evaluation on all websites. In order to reach that, I’d have to write better articles to get a better readership. It’s a good incentive too as a PR5 means I’m very close to generating enough income to even quit my full time job and just concentrate on chess blogging full time. It’s a nice dream of mine a few years ago but recently with the success of my thousand dollar experiment, it is become more of a possibility.

Everybody wants a higher search engine rankings and that is especially true for blogs like mine which tries to get some revenue from advertisement. Advertisers take Google PR seriously and in general, the higher your PR the more you will be paid for the ads.
