300 unique visitors!!
Recently the National Closed tournament has pushed GilaChess.com’s daily visitors to 300!!
That’s a barrier the website just couldn’t seem to break. Well we broke thru the 300 mark for 2 days!
Goes to show that Malaysian Chess fans that are online is growing. It also shows how much interest there is on the National Closed despite the lack of stronger players taking part. This can only be a good thing.
I’m also very happy with the changeover from PostNuke to WordPress. From the faster response time of the website and easier maintenance of content using WordPress, I do not regret the decision to switch. So far so good.
Also at this moment, from experience, I can say that running a small news website using full blown content management system like Joomla is an overkill and the lengthy time to learn how to customise and present info effectively is just a waste of effort when they are simpler but powerful software like WordPress available.
PS: Next target - 500 visitors !!
