Storing essential files sonline
I’m trying out this Online Backup service to store photos and important files online. It’s free offering 2Gb of space. I can store chess photos, important files such as swiss-46, swiss manager, and other important documents. They do offer the option to upgrade to the pro version which is USD 4.95 per month.
Anyway even in the free version, data storage is pretty secure because you get 128-bit SSL encryption on transfers, 256-bit AES encryption on storage with a user defined key. I registered for the free account and downloaded a 6.9Mb client program. It’s pretty user-friendly as it iDrive becomes just another drive on my machine and backing my data just involves a drag and drop to the new drive.
If you are like me and do lots of your work in the office with constant connection to the net, iDrive is not such a bad idea. Now if only my home Streamyx had constant connection to the net
