Tool for WCN - turn any screen into a touchscreen

I know of a friend who has trouble with playing on WCN, ChessOK, PlayChess, ICC or FIC using the mouse. We share a mutual problem. After a long session of online chess, my wrist just gets stiff and painful. So far I’ve been thinking about WACOM touch tablets as solution but it doesn’t look convincing.

I saw this cool USB gadget that transform ANY screen (preferably LCD) into a touch screen. It looks like the perfect solution to avoid carpel tunnel syndrom. Use a pen/stylus to write on the screen. I can imagine how much easier it would be, not to mention more natural, to play online chess on the screen. Not only chess but games like Command and Conquer 3 would feel fantastic using a touch screen.

It consists of a station that receives ultrasonic and infrared signals from the digital pen. The pen has a Left and Right button to simulate mouse operations.

The cost: USD 100.

Navisis also makes another model for the touch screen device. I don’t see the price for this but I guess it’s more than the USD 100 model.

Cool thingy the USB gadget. Good idea to use it playing C&C too.

Cheers ;)

Yeah I can imagine it’s way cool playing C&C3 on it. Hmmmm … I wonder if Low Yat will sell such devices anytime soon.. ?
