Climbing Alexa ranking
Another measure of website popularity is Alexa ranking. Though some people take this with a pinch of salt, some organisation take it quite seriously.
For example, one of my advertisers, on this site paid about USD 7 per month for a small text link when my rank was top 916,387 blog last month.
Now my ranking has risen slightly to top 842,755 blogs and this month ad charges rises to USD 10 per month. Not a significant amount but cumulatively within a year it’ll pay for all my webhosting charges.
Unlike Google adsense, I can talk about my advertisers from text-link-ads. It’s the backgammon link on the right.
