KL vs Singapore match

No no.. It’s not the old annual Malaysia vs Singapore. This is the ‘junior’ KL vs Singapore. I’m definitely looking forward to this event next month. It’s to be held during PC Fair.

Singapore will be fielding their best juniors chosen from their 59th National Schools Individual Chess Championships 2007 in the Under 7 and Under 9. Will our juniors be up to the task? I think this event will be a good gauge to see how Malaysia’s best juniors fare against Singapore’s best.

This match will take place on 14th April 2007 at the KLCC Convention Centre.

It’s not Malaysia vs. Singapore, instead it should read KL vs Singapore. Misleading topic title will lead to misleading conclusion by general public. Please rectify the topic title ASAP.

From 150 boards to 80 boards challenge?

The Msian parents who children are taking part in this match have been misguided by the relevant organising parties that have put words into these parents mind that their children have qualified to represent the country in a competition against Singapore. These parents (probably 80 now, from the intention 150) now think their children are National players.

Does MCF sanction this statement made by relevent parties?

It’s been reduced.

Please note that the mistake was made by me. As you can see from the organiser’s website there is nothing there to mislead parent’s to think that their children are National players. But that term does sounds funny. If a child player plays in one game vs Singapore in the annual Malaysia-Singapore match, does that make him/her a National Player?

Again I apologise for that blunder. (which has been corrected)

It’s KL vs Singapore :)
