I confess, I was paid

There is a new company called PayPerPost that pay blogs to talk about certain topics.

Some of you may have noticed that there were some posts here that were marked *sponsored*. I’ve not “sold out” and post irrelevant stuff just to get paid.

What this meant was that I got paid for writing those articles. So far I’ve only written 4 “sponsored” articles and they were paid by different sponsors from payperpost.com. I’ve been very picky on the topics I post as I want to make sure that they are not off topic. Sure I blogged about anti-virus but that was in relation to the software I use in my “patzer notebook”.

This article too is sponsored by PayPerPost.

Basically this is how PayPerPost works. I’m telling you this because I want to encourage more local chess bloggers to blog. Besides sharing info and doing what you like, you actually get paid doing it too.
Who can ask for more?

For me, I’ll be channeling the new money to buy domain names and pay for my web hosting. All my blogs already pay for themselves and I am saving the extra to get a new camera.

One thing to note, you don’t get paid for everything you blog about. You have to choose from a list of given topics. And you may not qualify to write on all topics. It all depends on your blog popularity and subject matter.

After posting your article, there is a period before the post is approved. If it gets approved the money is credited to your account.

So how much have I made so far?

USD 23.10 (about RM80). Not bad considering it’s only 4 short articles. I didn’t write more articles because I was a little apprehensive that I would get paid for posting such simple articles.

Well after a month the money was credited to my account (PayPal) and now I know it’s real. I was paid for all 4 articles. You can be sure I’ll be taking on more sponsored (but relevant) post. I know of some Malaysian’s getting paid about USD1500 a month just by writing sponsored articles.

P/s: Even this post talking about how much I made gets me paid. How cool is that ?
