Beat a 1900
I rarely beat players stronger than I am. Here’s a blitz game (5 minutes) played today where I won a WCN player rated 1900.
Playing the White side of the Sicilian Grand Prix, I usually aim ( and usually get) familiar middlegame where the centre is locked up and I can build a slow attack on the King side. However, this is not a typical Sicilian GP. My opponent gave up his strong g7 Bishop
for my Knight and later won a pawn. Of course, the usual tradeoff is that he lost time by getting his Queen chased around by my pieces. In the middlegame, I just brought out pieces threatening to trap his Queen. Did not trap his Queen but with superior development, the win was almost automatic.
