Stonemaster vs Chess Patzer

I remember when I help set up stonemaster website, I welcomed it because it’s another website for our local chess scene.

I also said it as a good thing, even with the clear competition to get ‘eyeballs’ and more traffic.

Didn’t have much time online because of my troubles with TMNet Streamyx. Anyway I did have time to read about Stonemaster.biz increased traffic. Not bad, as can be seen from the graph, the number of visitor hits to Stonemaster.biz is 200+ per day which this blog does not even come close.

Not only have I lost to Stonemaster over the board, now I’m losing to him in traffic :( (sigh).

Still, I’m happy to see this as IMHO, the more local chess websites the better. :D

That translates to more content and news for Malaysian chess enthusiasts !

Well no point be adversaries especially when it comes to websites. The net is a medium for distributing info. The more channels the better.

Yeah I also noticed. Working on another new sister website for GilaChess with fun new features (other than news) - that should at least double the traffic.

To get hits, ultimately you must have content…content updated everyday if possible. The content should touch people in their “chess lives” and to some extent invite comments and discussion.

I find that missing here. See SP’s blog where there are lots of participants and contributions by way of comments. There are really intelligent discussions going on.

My content is hardly updated daily and I can’t even dream of imitating SP’s popularity. Just want to provide local chess news as well as talk about chess improvement methods for the regular patzer.

Perhaps you can bring in some trusted kakis to post items of interest they come across on the net.
