Now there is allegations of Topalov getting hints from the gestures or signals from his manager, Danailov. It was printed in Germany’s Süddeutsche Zeitung. You can find the tanslated version in this Chessbase article.

I’m pretty sure the Topalov team wants this issue to be blown out of proportion. He wants to create suspicion the way Kramnik did in Elista. I mean, Danailov could’ve said that he has some kind of disease and needs to ‘thumb’ his way around his mouth. And Topa could be ‘worrying’ about the health of his manager. And the similar choice of moves to a ‘very popular chess program’?
Talk about getting back at Kramnik. The toilet visits. The internet cable. The similar choice of moves to the ‘very popular chess program’. =D
The talk has always been that there would be no way Kramnik cheated in the World Championship even with ridiculous incidents which appear extremely suspicious taking place.
Should they try smear Topa with the same accusations, the talk will go back to what happened in the World Championship, and also help with changing the momentum towards a rematch.

i think it is not wise for the german article to be published b4 the end of the tournament. although im not a fan of topalov, i just think its not right. anyway, can’t wait for the radjabov-topalov match to get underway. their last match in may 2006 ended in a boring 28-move draw. hopefully they wont settle for another stalemate just to take the piss off aronian if he does win
