Bought another past issue of Chess Life (July 2006) with highlights on Women in Chess from the newstand stall in Sungei Wang (either Ground Floor or basement - I forgot). This makes it the 2nd time this month I’ve found chess magazines in KL - something of a rare occurence. (or is it a sign of the growing local popularity of chess?)

During the early 90’s i used to asked someone in KL to buy the Chess Life at a newstand stall (i think it’s at the same place GilaChess went) at Sg Wang Plaza but when I was there during the 2004 Selangor Open @ Exhibition Hall, but it was not available then. & now they’re back :-)

I think they were always sold there but copies just got sold fast so we never seem to see them.

Last year Popular book store near Petaling Street also carried Chess Life sold at RM18.90 but I’ve not seen a single copy since November.

Anyway, Fadli is coming out with the Malaysian Chess magazine soon I hope…

Try at Pasar Seni. There is a 2nd bookshop. I got a lot from there when i was working in KL years ago with only RM10 per copy, if i’m not mistaken. ;)
