I bullied a kid
It’s shameful. So here I am admitting it…
After seeing the photo of this kid (forgot his name) in the recent Jimmy Liew clock simul, I remember what I did to him (the kid) during the RSC Blitz last year. I believe he is the son of National Master Yeoh Chin Seng.
Just have to get this out in the open so that my conscience will be clear. During one of the blitz games I met Yeoh’s son who was oh so little. Got into an embarassing position and was actually losing. With his pieces coming down on my King I made an illegal move. Under blitz rules I should have lost automatically (if my opponent had claimed it). However my opponent graciously pointed out the illiegal move and let me take it back. I could not believe my good fortunes and cowardly took back the move. I said nothing and made a different move and proceeded to save the game and even win.
The correct thing for me to do was to graciously resign just tell the poor kid about the illegal move rule in blitz. After all it’s just one stupid game but I just couldn’t lose.. 
Anyway, even worse was not telling him after the game! However, I’m sure NM Yeoh Chin Seng would have told his son about it by now.
There. Got it off my chest and can sleep better now ..
