Cheap Chess Life Magazine
Last week I stopped by at a magazine shop at Amcorp Mall, Petaling Jaya and was pleasantly surprise to find the following two issues of Chess Life Magazines:
It’s not brand new and it’s probably the unsold issues which are several months old from other magazine shops. As a result the issue cost cheaper than usual : RM 9.90 each. I bought both copies.
You can find the magazines (when there is stock) at the 2nd floor of Amcorp Mall. The shop name is Reissued.
I guess business is good as they have just opened a second magazine stall at the basement of Amcorp Mall too.
In my opinion, Chess Life is not the best Chess magazine out there. New In Chess is by far better because of the quality annotated chess games as well as interesting interviews. Still, Chess Life has improved somewhat with their new format and slight change in content. One of my favourite section which is Susan Polgar’s opening secrets is missing in the new format
