Dell Notebook Arrives

Wow! Did Dell read my blog? Got my Dell Inspiron 640M notebook in just 2 days instead of 2 weeks. A courier sent it over to the office just now.

I immediately unpacked it and successfully connected to my company’s WiFi in less than 5 minutes. My only regret is the same notebook is RM 100 less today.But thats normal with dell as their prices fluctuate from week to week.

I am very happy as this is my first notebook and I wanted this for a long time. Its nice that it comes with a nylon carrying case and a DVD burner. Will use it mainly for chess, blogging and doing some contract web projects (to pay for this notebook, of course :) ). Can’t wait to put chess software like Arena, Rybka, Fritz, Chessbase etc on it.

I doubt Dell is reading blogs like mine. Probably just lucky or the speedy delivery is just how Dell works.

Most probably is because 640M is a popular model, thus more ready stocks or parts available, so faster delivery time.

Anyway, plan to get either a Dell 640m or 6400, any idea which one is more suitable? Mainly use for blogging, web browsing, movie, light online game.

Personally I’d go for the 640M. I love the smaller screen height. Makes the overall form factor smaller too. If I had the money I’d go for the SPS series - 12″ only. But still a little heavy at 2Kg.

Yep, 640M is definitely popular. I saw Encik KZ using one at the IIUM tourney not long before I got mine. Saw many students around colleges using it too.
