Someone once asked me why should anyone want to blog. Why write about your personal day to day stuff for the whole world to see?
Well, the original purpose of a blog initially was as a weblog, an online diary or sorts. But today blogs have grown and are written for much different purpose. For me, it’s to put my training results or so called “chess improvement” efforts in writing online. However as you can see, itÂ’s become like a scrap book where I post anything related to chess here.
More importantly this chess blog has given me a voice. A place to put out my opinions. It’s also an ad-hoc place where I post ongoing tournament news ‘live’.
MSSMKL blog and the 1stMalaysianGM blog by EdFong are two great examples new and informational blogs. (will put in the actual links later).
So guys and gals please, blog away!! I’d like to see a stronger chess community thru blogs.
Starting a blog is easy. There are many free blogging services offered on the web.
The two most easiest (in my opinion) is www.blogspot.com and www.wordpress.com.
