I am really a Patzer

I chatted with a chess friend online just now and later I checked the rating graph to see to my surprise his overall WCN rating is 2200+.

I’m currently only at a pathetic 1500+. What a vast difference !! I did try to play against him some months back using an anonymous name and got blown away. I chose the blog title as a joke but it looks like when compared to most of my other chess friends (most are WCN rating 1800-2200), I’m really a patzer :(. How depressing. I guess back in my mind I always thought I’m at least a decent club player. I guess reality bites.

Still, I have to accept the facts but I am determined not to remain a patzer for long.

My personal classification of WCN ratings and rank is this and I intend to work thru and climb up these ranks:-

Weak Patzer         - 1300-1500
Average Patzer      - 1500-1600
Strong Patzer       - 1600-1800
Average Club Player - 1800-2000
