WCN 1800 not reached

Failure. My targeted 1800 rating at WCN could not be reached.

In fact my bullet rating is still pathetic 1460 .

At least, my blitz rating has risen to 1727.

I discovered that 10 minute chess is still considered only ‘blitz’ and so I did not play any standard game time control to increase my Standard Rating from 1333.

So my overall rating is only 1482. That’s a far cry from a 1800.

There was a peak in rating where I reached 1600 overall. That was the games I played in Cameron Highlands for about 2 days. He he.. I guess playing chess at higher altitudes improves my standard of play.

I have to admit that I just played and played. Almost no effort went into studying lost games in blitz. So no surpirse why I didn’t come near my goal. I will not give up. November will be another attempt

PS:
I almost did not want to post this ‘failure’ announcement but I guess the humiliation and shame should spur me to make changes and improve. Also it’s a psychology thing. When I play people over the board, they more or less know what my chess strenght is (if they read my blog). I never thought about it but if they lose to ‘GilaChess’, a Patzer, it’s quite humiliating too
I remember overhearing someone say to a friend who just lost to me: “Matilah engkau, kalah kepada GilaChess. Nanti dia tentu publish game tu kat internet.”
