Woke up this morning and saw clear skies for the first time in weeks. Heavy rains cleared up the haze here. Unlike in KL, the haze returned immediately even after the rain. Here after the rain, the haze is gone (and hopefully won’t come back too soon)
I’m at the 4th floor balcony at the place where I’m staying overlooking the small town of Tanah Rata, Cameron Highlands. It’s heaven for the chess geek in me because I am receiving free WIFI from all the way up here. Can you believe that? Free WiFi in a Cameron Highlands!!
For other geeks who like to come to Cameron to surf the web, come to the Downtown Café/Hotel where the whole block can receive WiFi. In fact if you are reading this story it’s being blogged using their WiFi. And it’s blazingly fast. I’m downloading Kosteniuk’s podcast while I’m typing out this blog so that I can listen later. For those who are not familiar, a podcast is a recorded radio show typically in MP3 format which you can listen on almost any device like a PC, iPod, MP3 player or PDA. Beside’s Kosteniuk Chess podcast, I regularly listen to technology podcast like CNet’s Buzz Out Loud, This Week In Tech, Diggnation and Slash Dot Review. I wish there was more Chess podcast as Kosteniuk’s is the only one I know of at the moment. Perhaps some Malaysian here can start a Chess Podcast?
Anyway, I’m going for some Ghee Thosai later for breakfast. Happy Deewali !!!
