Chess Diagrams for Blogs
Blogging is so easy today that anybody can start a blog. You don’t need to be a web designer or web programmer to maintain a blog. Besides, there are many websites that offer free blog hosting such as Blogger, WordPress and BlogSpirit.
However one common problem chess bloggers face is the difficulty of posting Chess Diagrams and games. You’ve seen those playable games that you can view on a website (eg: from Chessbase). Well, now you can easily post it too using the following tool called Chess Publisher.
The steps are easy:-
1. Copy and paste the PGN game (currently only support one game at a time) into the text box.
2. Click on the “Generate” button
3. Copy and paste the resulting code into your blog or website.
It is that easy!
Here are some screen shots:-

You can use the Chess Publisher at this URL: http://chess.maribelajar.com/chesspublisher
I hope this will encourage more people here to create a chess blog. If you need any help just email me.
To get an idea of what the tool can do, here’s a sample of the generated game from a PGN file. It’s from the latest Kramnik vs Topalov World Championship (Round 10):-
PS: I wrote the interface part using PHP (a web programming language). The Flash program known as Chess Genie was written by Aussie Robert Ambalong.

urgh.. my bad.. i was thinking about java when i wrote javasript..
what a bad engineering student i am.. should have been more careful with that.. now no one will employ me…
ChessGenie is great I used it on my test site http://www.fianchetto.centralcoastchess.com. For Blog page however (to make it more intersting), ChessGenie needs to display movetext on the board too. I believed, ChessGenie can also display game at any starting position - for problem or puzzle chess perhaps…
=) I’m actually in the systems and control engineering field but still, i should have known the difference… Anyway, I like this place so much.
I think there’s a new version of ChessGenie that have movetext at the right panel and you can jump to any position by just clicking on the movelist. I’ve seen it at http://www.rootyhillchess.org. Try this URL http://www.rootyhillchess.org/gameAUS5frm.html
I’ve been developing a JavaScript PGN viewer. It comes with a WordPress plugin. Check-out http://www.pgnview.com for more information. Direct link to a demo is (http://tom.jabber.ee/jspgnviewer)
On Chess Teaching the use of a WordPress plugin can be seen that supports comments and variations and even chess puzzles.
The plugin seems to be still under development.

That’s great!!!
Thanks a lot!
Does it allows move comments as well?
