Selangor Merdeka Selection Pictures

No full results yet of the CAS Selangor Merdeka Team Selection 2006 but I got some pictures.

At least we know the winners are :-

1. Cheah Eu Gene.
2. Mohan Raj
3. Hafiz Shafruddin

Since my car could not start that day, I got to Monash Uni Campus taking the RapidKL bus no 51 from Klang Bus Stand. It stopped right outside of Sunway Piramid. From there it was about 10 minutes walk to the college.

Once again, Cheah Eu Gene continues his superb domination in any tournament that CAS organises @ Sunway University College. He obtained 4 wins and 2 draws inclusive of a quick last round draw with Mohan Raj who finished 2nd. Hafiz finished 3rd.

As for the U-16 Category, Sumant defeated 5 opponents in a row before accepting a quick draw against Izz Saifuddin in the final Round. Izz and Justin Ong finished the event at 2nd & 3rd respectively.

All these 6 players listed above have gain an automatic qualification spot to represent Selangor in the coming Merdeka. Other qualifiers will be based on their year round tournament performance in 2006 which will be finalised by CAS Council and the upcoming RS Grand Prix Grand Finale on 12 & 13 Aug.
