Gilachess team for merdeka
In 2005, GilaChess did not form a team for the Merdeka Team championship. This year however, I am happy to announce there will be at least one GilaChess team taking part. In the 2004 Merdeka, the GilaChess Team actually won 5th position.
It was indeed a memorable experience as I played GMs and WGMs on board 2. However I regret to say that I sabotaged the team chances of getting a better placing by scoring five zeroes playing board 2. Coincidentally this time I can say that the this years’ GilaChess team is just as strong if not stronger. I am also happy to say that the money I’ve gained the whole year from the sponsors of GilaChess.com (mainly you - the readers) is enough to pay for the RM450 entrance fee. Thank you GilaChess fans!!
Please continue your support by following the progress and results of our team in the Merdeka Team this 19th and 20th of August by reading this blog. I won’t be playing this time so as not to sabotage the team chances of winning
