Round 5: Men scores against Italy. Women loses to France.
Mixed results as the Malaysian Men team had a big 3-1 win over host Italy B team. As predicted it was a 3-0 whitewash for the Malaysian Women. France was just too strong for them. There is still a lot of speculation as to why WFM Siti was left out in this critical round. It would have been fantastic to see Siti have a chance to take revenge over her loss to Almira last time in Jinan, China. Malaysian Women 5th round pairing As comparison, our neighbour Singapore Men is at 91 after drawing with Lebanon 2-2 in the fifth round. No games today as it is a rest day. Full results here
