Nasi lemak

Sure, chess is basically a mental activity. You have to be pretty experienced, knowledgeable, intelligent and mentally sharp to do well in chess. However, the brain is part of the human body which consists of other machinery like lungs, heart and other major organs. If the body is not in good shape, how can the mind function properly?
So I’ve added this new rule to my training program.
Stop Taking Nasi Lemak !!!
For those who are not Malaysian, Nasi Lemak is a popular Malaysian dish consisting of rice prepared with coconut milk and usually topped up with spicy sambal (chili mix), served with chicken, beef, or anchovies(ikan bilis).
I buy a packet of nasi lemak almost every morning on my way to work. Who can resist the aromatic smell of sambal ikan bilis emanating from the many makeshift nasi lemak stall that litters the road side of Kuala Lumpur these days? However nice it is, we all know how bad it is for health. My arteries will be clogged up so fast that I’ll likely collapse at the chess board with a heart attack. Looking at my growing belly, I’m not far off. Not making any drastic plans, just cutting off Nasi Lemak from my morning diet.
Of course I should prepare some exercise plan too but one thing at a time. It’s going some tremendous willpower just to resist the nasi lemak temptation every morning.
