Selangor Open Round 5: Tjin Hau downs Yee Weng
FM Lim Yee Weng falters in round 5 losing to Indonesian Tjin Hau who has already beaten FM Anas and WFM Siti in prior rounds.
One chess friend remarked that he has already beaten 3 members of our olympiad team in one go. This is certainly an impressive feat or is it our Malaysian standards are much lower?
Tjin Hau becomes the sole leader for the first time after round 5 with 4.5 points. Only another member of the olympiad team managed to halt Tjin Hau’s successive wins and it was Nur Shazwani in round 4.
Tomorrow it’s Kamaluddin vs Tjin Hau on top board. Can Kamaluddin finally stop Tjin Hau’s impressive run so far or will Tjin Hau win and become totally unstoppable.
We’ll see tomorrow….

Who the heck is this Tjin Hau?. Very impressive. I hope later on you can reveal his matches against our olympiad team. Long journey to go for our chess future. Well, Malaysian chess at it’s best?. Hmm…maybe Nabila is our last hope and we have to wait for another 15 years…hahaha…
