She has winning chances but her time is down to a minute vs Tjin Hau’s 40 minutes. On board 2 Lim Yee Weng won Steven Retallick. Shamsuddin beat Chow Mon Ben on board 3. Zhi Wen drew with Rizal on board 4. Sumant beat Yusof on board 5. Even though today is my ‘rest day’ I won vs Hasidin. I made the mistake of underestimating Hasidin and had to settle for a drawn position. However in the endgame Hasidin missed a simple tactic that lost him a whole castle. I pity him as the game should have been a draw.
Anyway today is also the Taylor’s Open. I will try to get over there if I have time after round 5 to get some news of that event. Actually I was registered for that event but I called up Suhairi to cancel my entry. No point being greedy and playing a crazy ’simultaneous’ with Sel Open and Taylor open. I calculated by sac one or two taylor’s game and obtaining a bye for one round in Selangor Open will make playing in both event possible. At last I decided against it as I am not really that ‘gila’.
