Royal Selangor Chess Open: Round 2

Playing White, Tjin Hau placed both his Queen and Rook on the seventh rank but Anas defended. When Tjin Hau’s 2nd rook arrived at the 7th rand also, it was too much for Anas position to handle. So Tjin Hau takes the lead by beating Anas. Kamaluddin beat Norbert Tominsky on board 3. Foo Chee Kin beat Stonemaster Fadli at his specialty-the Stonewall. Fadli’s piece sac on the Queenside didn’t quite work and Foo Chee Kin’s kingside attack crashed thru. WFM Siti beat Yaw Chong in an a game where Siti was a piece up for 2 pawns. So Siti, Tjin Hau, Kamaluddin and Foo Chee Kin have 2 points now. There may be more players with 2 points but I didn’t get to see the results before leaving for lunch. Chow Mon Ben’s game was finished but was not handed in.
