12 year old Pinoy goes to Turin

Wesley So makes it in the qualification matches to qualify to represent Phillipines for the Turin Olympiad.
In the penultimate round So was leading with 2 points ahead of Roca, Nava, Nolte and Maga who were only half a point behind.
In the final round, the 12-year old held Rolando Nolte to a draw.

The Pinoy mens team consists of:

  • Paragua
  • Torre
  • Antonio
  • Oliver Dimakiling
  • Darwin Laylo
  • Wesley So.
    This means that Philippine chess is moving ahead. We still have a lot of Paraguas and Sos waiting to be tapped.

    Yes I read that too. Fantastic performance. I played white vs Wesley on WCN in a bullet game..
