Bull's Eye on ForeheadI just can’t help feeling there will be a repeat of what happened in the Selangor Open 2005. Many of the rated players were outgunned by unrated players.

To the unrated players, it’s open season on the 26 above. It’s like having a bull’s eye painted on their forehead.

There are 33 hungry unrated players waiting to cause some upsets. And I bet you there will be some upsets.

After 12 years of students winning the National Closed, this looks like the year that the working adults strike back. Comebacks from IM Jimmy Liew, Woo Beng Keong and the recent good form of other veterans NM Kamal Ariffin, Kamaluddin Yusof, Tan Hong Ghee and Andrew Ooi GilaChess. My bet is on the adults this year.

I’m placing my bets on either of these 3 players to win the title - Jonathan Chuah, Anas Nazreen or Abang Reduan.

Yeah. I also agree but we’ll see. Strongest youngsters are Jonathan Chuah and Anas in my opinion.

They might just make it 13 years in a row. GilaChess is not in the list of players :)

Kamal Ariffin has been performing well recently. His game almost reaching maturity but still got a few lines to adjust. Kamaluddin need to get back on his feet… he has been pre-occupied with his other life lately.. need to change his outdated computer as well… still a very strong contender and i still find it difficult to outplayed his attacking style.. Saprin Sabri has just announced his registration in the NC06, his “True Chess” concept is very interesting. Was 2nd in the previous NC04…

my fov.. probably anas
