GilaChess Month!
Since this month is the craziest month for chess, I officially declare March as Gila Chess month (crazy chess month)!! There are 16 chess events in Malaysia this month - most of them in the Klang valley.
Malaysia does not have a single GM but we certainly are active in our rapid chess events. Tomorrow will be the first tourney to kick off - the UM Team Tournament or Pertandingan Catur Terbuka Piala Tun Syed Zahiruddin
I am playing in team GilaChess and will report live from the tournament place as usual. Hopefully with a round by round report so stay tuned!
Update: There are so many teams taking part I just received a call from the organiser to get more chess sets and clocks.If you have a spare set and clock please call 017-4098747.
If last year was anything to go by, I suggest bringing lots of drinking water and wearing cooler clothes as the place is hot !!
